At Premier Football Academy we believe in consistency, teamwork, communication, emotional support, planning and player feedback, transforming boys and girls into confident team players. Our mission is to deliver precisely that to make your child be the best that they can be. With professional coaching in its DNA, Premier Football Academy utilises the highest quality of facilities and equipment to guarantee every child’s footballing experience is first class.

Consistency

Your child will practice for years but without consistency in training they will struggle to understand the basic fundamentals which makes a player succeed. They will never be perfect individually as that isn’t possible, even Ronaldo isn’t perfect, but with consistent, repetitive training they will gain correct muscle memory and without thinking will play productively and learn permanent skills for life. PRACTICE MAKES PERMANENT!

Teamwork

We all know the well-known saying, “teamwork makes the dream work”. This is completely 100% accurate in football. Individual talent can be practiced in training and is essential to have, but it is nothing without a team. Everything we do is about a team and this is sometimes taught through a bit of “tough love”.

Communication

No amount of kicking a ball around a field will teach your child on how to play football as a team. We communicate the basic fundamentals of football through education and indeed around 15% of our sessions have players standing around a coach with or without a white board teaching the players what to do. We also have active social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram which you and your child are encouraged to join. Here you will receive all the latest news and updates about the football academy as well as tips and tricks on how to play and how not to play.

Emotional support

All young players at some point struggle with emotions as they grow and play football.  It’s completely natural and what is needed is encouragement and support to help them through this. Shouting at a player from the sidelines does nothing but hinder their progression. We have proven methods to deal with these emotional issues and we implement them in all sessions. However, sometimes emotions can go too far and become out of control – ALL violence, bullying and discrimination is not tolerated at Premier Football Academy.

Planning

All sessions are pre-planned and have been tried and tested to give the player the skills they need. As football is a team game the players will be trained as a team and at the end of most sessions there will be a short game to assess what the players have learned during the session. Some sessions will purposely be repeated week after week to ensure the players gain muscle memory which enables them to make doing things right a force of habit. This may be boring to watch but completely essential.

Feedback

Giving individual player feedback is very challenging when managing over 1000 children a week, however, it is incredibly important to allow players and parents to focus on what needs to be improved, so we have developed a testing system which over a three month period will give a detailed insight into how a player is performing, with detailed strengths and weaknesses.

ELITE COACHES WITH PREMIER LEAGUE EXPERIENCE & INTERNATIONAL COACHING METHODS

At Premier Football Academy we adopt tried and tested methods which have been utilised at some of the best football academies in Europe

We mix two styles of coaching, Democratic Coaching and Casual Coaching.

Democratic Coaching

A democratic style of football coaching is the polar opposite to how the authoritarian coach operates. Players are encouraged to share in the decision-making, taking the lead on what sort of training drills they wish to do and how they should react in certain on-the-pitch scenarios. Think back to that night in Nice during Euro 2016 when England were embarrassed by Iceland. One of the most striking images from that evening was the way in which Wayne Rooney, Dele Alli and the rest could be seen looking hopelessly towards the bench as they struggled to come up with any ideas of their own to overcome a rigid Iceland defence.

If players are allowed a little freedom in decision-making they will work together to find a solution as opposed to waiting for instructions from the bench.

Casual Coaching

Casual coaching is perhaps a misleading title for our second football training technique, as it is in fact all about making the game fun. There is a certain school of thought that if you employ a soccer coaching method that prioritises enjoyment over anything else, you will produce a happy collection of players which will eventually lead to a successful team. This management style works in two ways. Firstly, players learn more and improve at a faster rate if they are doing something they enjoy. Secondly, a strong team spirit brought about by a happy environment can help a side reach new heights.

A study stated that it takes around 10,000 hours of training and game time to become a professional football player

…that’s 3 hours a day, 20 hours a week for 10 years.

Start early, train well and find the best football coaches. Thats where we come in…

YOU’VE PROBABLY SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME STANDING BESIDE MUDDY FOOTBALL PITCHES, IN THE COLD WIND AND RAIN, WATCHING CHILDREN KICK A BALL AROUND AIMLESSLY WITH PASSION AND EXCITEMENT BUT WITHOUT REAL DIRECTION.

SHOUTED AT BY MANAGERS AND OTHER PARENTS, ALL SCREAMING CONTRADICTORY INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE SIDE-LINE TO THE CHILDREN…

THERE IS ANOTHER WAY

At Premier Football Academy your child will learn over time how to play professional academy football to a professional level. After a few short months they will start to step above the other children in the grassroots team they play for and will be well on their way to becoming a professional player. Professional academy training is what your child needs to get to a level where they have the potential to be spotted by scouts for some of the biggest football clubs.

To do this we bring together academy-style training formats created by some of the best teams in Europe to give the best youth coaching the UK has to offer.
